Road Closures

From time to time, the City permits the temporary closure of a street to facilitate construction and maintenance activities, or to provide a safe environment for a community event. Requests for construction-related road closures are reviewed and approved by the Construction Inspection Division. Requests for event-related road closures are reviewed and approved by the Special Events Division.

  2. Lane Shifts/Construction: 200 E. Washington Street Area

    Due to the construction at 200 E. Washington St., Spring St. between E. Washington St and E. McBee Ave will have lane shifts with limited lane widths. Travel ways will be delineated with traffic barriers and posted signage. Drivers may enter and exit the Spring St Garage in either direction onto Spring St. S Irvine St between E.   2. Lane Closures on Rhett Street and Perry Avenue

    The eastbound lane of Rhett Street will be closed between Watson and Perry Avenues; and the northbound lane of Perry Ave., between Rhett and S. Main Streets will be closed through October, 2018, for storage of materials, material deliveries and construction activities.

  2. Druid Street, from Reid Street to Wilshire Drive

    The purpose of the closure is to allow McClam & Associates to perform pipe bursting on the existing gravity sewer main and re-connection services. The street will re-open at the end of each day and access to residences will be maintained at all times.

  2. Poinsettia Place, between Chick Springs Road and Meyers Court

    Poinsettia Place closed for approximately six weeks, to allow for sanitary sewer installation across the road. Access to residential homes will be maintained. If the work is completed sooner than anticipated, the road will re-open early.

  2. South Laurens, from E. Broad to W. Court Streets

    S. Laurens St. closed behind the Courtyard Marriott, for repair work on the sign at the rear elevation. If the work is completed sooner than anticipated, the road will re-open early.
